"Getting to know you, getting to know all about you…. "
Yes, it's true I have a secret passion for show tunes and "Getting to Know to you" is one of my favorite songs from the musical "The King and I" . For me, "getting to know" is what the ASIS experience is all about…...
At the February 22nd Chapter Meeting that was kindly hosted by Mark Domanauer of Adobe, over thirty-five other Chapter Members and I had the opportunity to "get to know" something about Cynthia Hetherington. Cynthia is the founder of the Hetherington Group and she presented the ASIS International Webinar Web 2.0 Investigations That Move Beyond Google. It was a great opportunity to learn about tools, tricks and tips for conducting internet investigations and the take-away was you didn't have to be an Investigator to use what you learned during this session. Plus you could earn CPP, PCI or PSP re-certification credits for attending.
After the meeting a small group of us took advantage of gathering for a quick lunch, which provided the additional opportunity to "get to know" each other beyond the usual casual introduction. I must admit that every time I get a chance to learn what someone else's job involves, I am awed by the breadth and depth of this world we call "Security", the technology within it, and most of all the people.
On March 18th, you each have the opportunity to "get to know" Law Enforcement Officers from across the Bay Area. For the 48th year, we'll gather to show the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter's appreciation for our Public Law Enforcement Officers and the work they do. Join us as we recognize law enforcement officers who distinguish themselves through exemplary service and devotion to duty as well as honoring those who have given their lives.
This year's event will be held on Thursday, March 18th at The Marriott Hotel 1770 S. Amphlett Blvd. San Mateo, CA 94402 with a Reception and Networking taking place at 11:00 am and lunch following at 12:00 pm. Just click here to register http://www.sfasis.org/Events/Details.asp?i=113
On behalf of the Board and all Committee Members I thank you for your continued support of the Chapter whether it's through financial sponsorship, attending meetings, answering survey's or volunteering. It is only through your participation that we can be a successful Chapter.
I encourage you to take an opportunity to "get to know"…….. |
