ASIS SFBA Chapter Website Recognized

In the most recent RVP Best Programs and Practices Update e-mail, the ASIS SFBA Chapter website was recognized as an "excellent example of a Best Practice" by Steven Millwee CPP, Vice President, ASIS International. The article began by recognizing web sites that "demonstrated outstanding best practices by some of your Regional Vice Presidents and chapters."

Our web site was honored as the fourth example in this list of ASIS Chapter web sites. The following excerpt is from this article.

This month take a look at the following items, which demonstrate outstanding best practices by some of your Regional Vice Presidents and chapters. I would encourage you to use these examples as models for your regions and chapters.

Example One: The attached word file shows what RVP Allan Wick from Region 6 (Texas) and his team of ARVPs have developed as their regional newsletter. When some chapters are struggling with how to develop a web? based newsletter, here is another example of how modern technology can be used to take information created in Microsoft Word (or other formats) and produce high impact information in color, with pictures and graphics. (Best Practices Team...hint!)

Example Two: Allan is also the chairman of the Host Committee for [our] fast approaching Annual Seminar and Exhibits in San Antonio. His committee has developed a site for ALL members that tell them, not only about the Seminar, but other areas of interests to those traveling to their great city. What a great initiative that can become part of the ASIS culture. Go to www.asishost.org.

Example Three: David Cullen, the RVP of Region 18 (Northeast U.S.) and his team of ARVPs have developed a regional website. This is a great example of how sister chapters are working together to promote each other. This type of team work can be easily modeled by every region and chapter. Go to www.asis?region18.org.

Example Four: The San Francisco chapter was one of the first chapters to create a chapter website. Take a look at their excellent example of a Best Practice. Go to www.sfasis.org.

These are just four examples. I know there are many others that deserve our accolades. Send me an email with the link for those outstanding practices and programs.

The ASIS SFBA Chapter is grateful to Mr. Millwee for his recognition of our web site and we are proud to be considered one of the leaders in Chapter website practices.

With an average of around 500 hits per day, our members are responsible for making this a successful and leading Chapter web site. We should all be proud of the member feedback and suggestions that have been instrumental in making our web site a practical resource for ourselves and as an example for other chapters.
