Executive Membership Meeting Minutes

San Francisco ASIS Chapter

November 15, 2001

Meeting was called to order by Chapter Chair, Ron Sathre CPP at 8:40am.

Executive Members were Ron Sathre, Connie Vaughn, Brad Minnis CPP and Ken Fauth CPP. Chapter ASIS Members present included Kathy Goelkel.

An Agenda was handed out by the Chair.

Item #1 & 2
The format for the December 13th meeting was shared. Discussion followed.

  1. Conduct a short business meeting. Networking and registration will take place between 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. The meeting will begin at 11:30 a.m.
  2. It was decided that a donation of $500. to each of the three (3) Counties encompassing the Chapter would be made. Ken will identify the appropriate food-banks for San Francisco, San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties, and invite specific responsible individuals from these organizations to receive our donation of $500.00 per unit.
  3. Whatever National Semi-Conductor is collecting, that would be the admissions price for the luncheon (can of food, toy, etc...). We are NOT doing Toys For Tots this year, unless National is doing it.  The meal would be paid by the chapter, ideally NOT to exceed $15.00 a person.
  4. Introduce Rob Williams, RVP; Shirley Pierini CPP, National ASIS Secretary Elect; and Michael Stack, ASIS Executive Director, if the later two are able to join us. Ron will invite Shirley and Ken will invite Michael.
  5. Recognize “host businesses” with a certificate. Connie will identify the companies and the person to whom we will present a certificate at the December meeting.
  6. Recognize members with best attendance for the year.
  7. Recognize CPPS in attendance.
  8. Longest standing ASIS member in attendance.
  9. New member certificates.
  10. Former Chapter “Chairs” short presentation of highlight for their year with Chapter.
  11. Celebrate the Chapter's 45th Anniversary with wine and a commemorative Chapter wine glass.
  12. Special Individual Chapter Recognitions
  13. Swear in the new Chapter Officers elect for the 2002 Year term.
  14. Invite Steve Duell (web Master)
  15. The lunch meal at National will be a buffet and 50 places are planned for at this time. We will adjust (up) as registrations come in. Ron will send out a specific mailing to the membership, and an email blast and FAX will also be sent with his message.

Item #3
Committee Chairs for 2001/ 2002. Discussion followed on trying to find individuals to serve and to make requests for volunteers. Task for next years officers.

Item #4
St. Patrick’s Day Luncheon. Need to find Chair for this event. Dave Gibbs CPP name was presented. Task for next years officers.

Item #5
Discussion was had on the Chapter web site and the outstanding job Steve Duell has done with the site. Brad to check on sponsoring Steve for membership with the Society. Discussion also took place on finding “paying sponsors” for the website.

Item# 6
Discussion regarding a “Chapter Directory” took place. Brad will have one of his personnel update the Directory.

Item #7
Chapter Treasurer, Brad Minnis CPP reported that 210 members had paid their 2001 dues to date. Brad will write an article for the December Newsletter and identify all those who have paid up to this time.

Item #8
IB Hale and Newsletter Submission to ASIS National. Committee Chair, Kathy Goelkel, presented Chapter Chair Ron Sathre CPP with the assembled support material for submission for consideration to ASIS National through the RVP. Kathy stressed the need to adhere to the time deadlines in getting it to National. Ron said he had discussed with RVP Rob Williams already.

Due to the arrival of members for the regular chapter meeting, the Executive Committee Meeting was adjourned at 9:50am.
