Chairman's Corner
Our Saint Patrick's Day Law Enforcement Appreciation Day was a great success! Many thanks to David Gibbs, Committee Chair for an outstanding event! Special thanks also to Ted Barron and his Sponsorship team Maria Padgett and Cindy Doyle, for their successful fund raising efforts, as well as thanks to those sponsors who support us. Hospitality, chaired by Carol Peterson and assisted among others by Ama Thiaray and Inder Somel, registered 300 guests, who enjoyed the lunch and decorations arranged by Pete Lehner (cool balloon men!!). It was a fun event- thanks to Wayne Dexter who arranged the entertainment- and a safe event- thanks to the security arranged by Michael Clements. It was a nice opportunity to socialize with the Law Enforcement professionals in our area, and hear about ways we can support each other in the future from Robert S. Mueller, III, the keynote speaker. The Committee worked hard to put on the event, and had fun doing it, so if you would like to get started on the planning for next year's event with the committee, contact Pete Lehner at plehner@apsinc.com. Speaking of event planning, our Annual Seminar and Exhibits Team has been hard at work trying to have fun planning the May 18th event. As always, these events take a significant amount of work by dedicated volunteers, and we need your help to support our Chapter. Don't forget to reserve time on your calendar the night of May 17th also for the Chairman's Reception, to be held once again at the San Mateo Expo Center. It is a perfect opportunity to get a head start on the exhibits and spend extra time with special vendors and customers. Before May arrives, we have our regular meeting scheduled for April 20th, preceded by a workshop on computer security. The luncheon speaker will be Keith Lowry from Pilot Networks. Join us at the Sunnyvale Hilton at 9 for the workshop or 11:30 for luncheon registration. See you there!
