Executive Council Meeting Minutes

Thursday, February 17, 2000

The meeting was called to order at 1:45 p.m. by Kathy Goelkel. Discussion was held on Chapter Dues and the Chapter Directory. Chapter Dues will continue to be collected at $20.00 per year to assist in maintaining Chapter financial stability and to help cover the costs of the website. Kathy Goelkel will send a letter to the membership requesting that they pay their dues, and letting them know that Directories will not be mailed this year to all members, but will be available for pick-up at certain ASIS meetings (probably June, July and August.) .

The expectation is that this will be a transition year in which we will print hard copies of the directory for those that wish them, but that we will work on transitioning the Directory to the website, behind the password protected area that was previously used for Placement when that access was restricted. Members will be able to print their own directory from the website if they wish a hard copy. In order to facilitate accuracy, our hope is to have a link that enables each member to update his or her own information as needed.

Brad Wilson has the Form 10 on-line and will forward to Dan and Kathy to facilitate a better appearance of the Form 10 when submitted to ASIS International.

Discussion was held on the goals of the October Security Officer Appreciation Day and how to provide a program and recognition that makes the officers feel as special as possible, without making the program unduly long. Listing the names on PowerPoint overheads is a possibility. Brenda Knox agreed to speak in appreciation of officers' contributions. Including ASIS members who began as security officers and have progressed into Security Management positions is a possibility as well. Committee Chair Connie Vaughn will be soliciting members opinions on the event.

St. Patrick's Day Law Enforcement Appreciation Luncheon planning is on track.

Planning for the Annual Seminar and Exhibits in May is on track.

Research on Workshops provided by Chapter CPPs is progressing, with the hope that the first workshop will be in April.

The next Executive Council meeting will be held after the April luncheon program.

Respectfully submitted,
Kathy Goelkel
Chapter Chair
