General Membership Meeting Minutes

Oct. 19, 2000

Kathy Goelkel called meeting to order.

This month's meeting was "Security Officers Appreciation."

Chapter Business:

• Lynette Foulger resigned as treasurer, as she is moving out of the area.
• Kris Rennett was sworn in as replacement by Denny Haw.

A big thanks was given to Lynette Foulger for all her hard work.

Nominations for next year's board was announced:

• Chair - Ron Sathre
• Vice-Chair - Dan Wachtler
• Secretary - Connie Vaughn
• Treasurer - Kris Rennett

Kathy announced that attendance is critical in November due to elections.

Ron gave report on ASIS convention 

SFBA chapter donated $2,500.00 to the ASIS Foundation  and purchased a table for 10 at the ASIS Foundation Dinner

Kathy closed the business portion of the meeting to begin the Security Officer Appreciation program. Speakers for the program were:

• Brenda Knox of Acufacts gave history of security officers
• Felicia Byars of E*Trade shared her experience in her progression from security officer to security manager.
• Brad Minnis of 3Com shared his story of start from security officer to high level security manager.

Security officers were recognized by each company and pictures were taken, certificate and gift given.
