Chairman's Corner

November 2000

At our October meeting we recognized 90 Security Officers for their strong contributions this past year. They joined us for lunch and presentations by Brenda Knox, Acufacts; Felicia Byars, E-Trade and Brad Minnis, 3 Com, who shared their experiences in Security. See the corresponding articles showing photos from the event, a summary of the event from Connie Vaughn, Committee Chair (thanks for a great event Connie!) and a list of the officers who were recognized. We took special care to make this an event that the officers would enjoy and that would recognize their contributions, as we feel an important job of our chapter is to nurture the officers who support us in our industry. We hope you were there to join us! Special thanks not only to Committee Chair Connie Vaughn, but also two key helpers Brenda Knox and Valerie Kosorek for their help in making the event a great success.

The November meeting is a critical one as we will be voting on our officers for the Year 2001. The nominees are :

Ron Sathre - Chairman
Dan Wachtler -Vice-Chair
Connie Vaughn - Secretary
Kris Rennett - Treasurer

Please come to the meeting and vote- we need your attendance so we have enough people for a valid election! The election will be held this month and the new officers will be installed into office at our December Christmas meeting on December 21. Both meetings will be held at our normal meeting location, previously known as the Sunnyvale Hilton, now known under the new name of the Four Points Sheraton. Still in Sunnyvale, still at 1250 Lakeside Drive. Please RSVP now and join us! Also think about volunteering for a committee for the year 2001- let Ron Sathre know if you are interested- we need your help!

In December we will have a Toys for Tots Charity Drive- so bring Toys to help make Christmas 2000 special for needy children in the area. Monetary donations are also accepted. The Christmas meeting will be a party too, so bring your good cheer and your holiday spirit!
