RVP News

I'd like to thank all the chapters that I've had an opportunity to visit in the past couple of months for their hospitality. The chapter meetings were well run, the speakers were informative, and the food was great too! For those chapters I have not been to yet, you can expect to see me soon.

We have some Region II winners for both the Newsletter Awards and the I.B Hale Award for 1998. Congratulations to the Sacramento Chapter for Honorable Mention in the Group III Newsletter Award. Congratulations to the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter for winning the I.B Hale Award (again!) in Group VI, and for Honorable Mention in the Group VI Newsletter Award. I would like to encourage all Region II Chapters to consider submitting their applications this year for both IB Hale and Newsletter Awards. Remember you compete against the same size chapters from around the world. If anyone needs more information on these awards or an application form, please let me know.

Also, a reminder to all Chapter Chairs and Chapter Secretaries, your Form 10 needs to be completed and turned in no later than 10 days after you monthly meeting. I still have not received quite a few Form 10s from January meetings. It is important that both ASIS Headquarters and I receive a copy of your Form 10 within 10 days after your chapter meeting.

I have appointed a third Assistant Regional Vice President for Region II. Scott Wilson, CPP is the ARVP-CPP for Region II. He is responsible for promoting the CPP program within our region. Scott is a member of the Mt. Diablo Chapter and is successfully running a CPP study group and review course for members of his chapter.

As I have visited the chapters, a number of members have asked me when the other chapters in the Region meet. Currently all chapters are holding lunch meetings. Here is the schedule:

Golden Gate	1st Wednesday of the month at Fair Isaacs in San Rafael.
Hawaii	2nd Wednesday of the month.
Monterey Bay	2nd Wednesday of the month at Chef Lee's in Monterey.
Mt. Diablo	2nd Thursday of the month at HS Lordships at the Berkeley Marina.
Northern Nevada	1st Wednesday of the month in Reno.
Sacramento	2nd Tuesday of the month at the USAA Building in Sacramento.
San Francisco	3rd Thursday of the month at the Sunnyvale Biltmore.
