Chairman's Corner

This is my
final chairman’s corner. It has
been a busy year for the chapter and I want to thank everyone who contributed
their time, resources, and support. Managing
a chapter of this size and with its level of activity takes much time and a
certain level of commitment. Every
person who was asked to provide some service was gracious, willing and always
provided a quality product. I would
like to thank all the committee chairmen, the support staff and all the other
support personnel from the various companies who made this year possible.
This year was
a financial success due in large part to the efforts of the Annual Seminar
Committee co-chaired by Brenda Knox and Paul Dubois.
This hard working committee took a chance by changing the venue of the
seminar with the result being the most financially successful seminar in the
history of the chapter.
The other
major change for the chapter this year was the decision to stop publishing a
paper newsletter and move the newsletter to the new web site (www.sfasis.org).
While there are still some concerns and dissenting opinions about this
decision, for the most part this too has been successful and has contributed to
the financial health of the chapter. Thanks
for this endeavor go to Brad Wilson and his Web site Committee and Steve
Duell the web master. Steve has
been creative, supportive, and willing to work within the chapter’s guidelines
to creative a very professional web site and newsletter presentation.
The watershed from this decision was to encourage other ASIS chapters to
discontinue their newsletters and follow the lead of the SFBA chapter –
continually a leader and striver for excellence.
I have
extended a personal invitation to all the committee chairman and the committee
members to attend the December chapter meeting and hope that the rest of the
chapter members will also attend to say thank you to these hard working people.
I have certificates of appreciation to hand out as well as a few special
thank you gifts for some special people.
In addition,
in December, we will be holding the installation of the new officers for 2000:
Chapter Chairman – Kathy Goelkel
Chapter Vice Chairman – Ron Sathre
Chapter Secretary – Dan Wachtler
and Chapter Treasurer – Lynette Foulger.
RVP Brenda Knox will be doing the honors for the installation.
I have
enjoyed this year very much. It was
a pleasure to work with RVP Brenda Knox, Kathy Goelkel, Roni
Davis, Ron Sathre and all the committee chairman.
They made my job very easy. Thank
you to every one who helped make this year successful.
Mark your
calendars for December 16, 1999. See
you there. |
