Is Security Keeping Pace
with Business Globalization?

David Gibbs, Vice President Global Strategic Accounts for Pinkerton, member of the ASIS SF Bay Area Chapter, and former Chapter Chairman and ASIS Regional Vice President, will be presenting “Is Security Keeping Pace with Business Globalization” at the ASIS International 1999 Las Vegas Annual Seminar & Exhibits.  The session will be Monday, September 27, 1999 (1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.).

Gibbs’ presentation synopsis is that Business globalization is accelerating as we near the end of the 20th century. Often as a result of a merger or acquisition. Virtually all multinationals run their business according to a global strategy. They buy, procure and manufacture globally; arrange distribution and logistics globally; and brand, market and sell globally. Yet, security by and large continues to be sourced, tendered and selected – locally. Will security follow the trend of globalization? What are the advantages and disadvantages to globalizing security? The session will assist you in learning the advantages of a global security program, how to structure and mange security on a global basis, and how security providers are approaching the global market.
