Bob Tucker, Ross Police Dept., has recently completed and been awarded the California Specialized Certificate in Homeland Security and Terrorism by the State of California Emergency Management Administration (old Calif. OES-DHS). Sgt. Tucker is one of only twenty-two of these Specialized Certificate holders. Requirements for the certification is attendance and successful completion of 4 mandatory and three elective courses held at the California Specialized Training Institute (CSTI) in San Luis Obispo, Calif. dealing in Terrorism, Disaster Preparedness and Response, and Homeland Security.

On December 9, 2006 I, as well as others, were recognized by the Gretna, LA Police department for my two weeks of assisting in the New Orleans, Jefferson, and St. Bernard Parrishes after Hurricane Katrina struck the area August 30, 2005. During my two week "deployment" I assited with rescue operations, delivered food and medical supplies, as well as assisted with law enforcement duties. I was acknowledged at the annual Nine Lives Associates (NLA) 25th Annual Conference in New Orleans. I received a Medal, Uniform Ribbon, and a Certificate for "Meritorious Service".
